Product Overview

The N3C-EC1 is a 3/8” FNPT 12V DC electric plastic solenoid valve. This valve’s coil touts a NEMA 4 rated enclosure that can withstand windblown dust, rainfall, and ice forming damage as well as hose-directed water. This valve can be used safely outdoors, however be sure not to fully submerge the valve in water.

The valve comes with two 18” wires extending from the coil. These wires can be hooked up to your power supply. The valve is low power, only requiring 6 watts to actuate. The response time for this valve is very quick, being less than a second. In addition to being low power, this valve is very compact, making it the ideal valve to use in myriad of locations. The plastic body consists of a NORYL GTX830 resin that gives the valve its high thermal and chemical resistance as well as its stiffness.

This valve is in a normally closed configuration. This means that at rest, without power, the valve is closed. In order to open the valve, the valve must be both energized and have a minimum pressure of 5 psi. This minimum pressure is necessary to open the valve due to pilot operation, which also prevents this valve being used in a gravity feed situation. The valve is also unidirectional, meaning it only functions correctly using one direction of flow from the “In” port to the “Out” port. Backpressures exerting into the “Out” port will disrupt the function of the valve.
