Product Overview

The BZW-50K-24VAC is a 2" 24V AC normally open brass solenoid valve designed for high-flow control of water, air, fuel, and other compatible media in commercial and industrial fluid systems. This 2-way valve remains open when power is off and closes when 24V AC is applied. Its normally open operation makes it suitable for systems that require continuous flow during a power interruption or need to stop flow only when the valve is energized.

The valve features a durable brass body, stainless steel internal components, and a Viton® diaphragm for compatibility with a range of fluids and operating temperatures. Its 2" female NPT ports and 50 mm orifice provide a high flow capacity, with a Cv of 48 and an approximate water flow rate of 370 GPM at 60 psi. It operates at 0 to 90 psi, with a media temperature range of 15°F to 250°F (-10°C to 120°C). The 24V AC coil has a DIN 43650A electrical connection, responds in less than one second, and is rated for 100% duty at rated ambient temperature.

The normally open configuration is particularly useful where flow needs to continue when electrical power is interrupted, and the valve only needs to close when energized. Suitable applications must match the valve's pressure, temperature, flow, and material compatibility requirements.

Common Applications

Common applications include:

  • High-flow water circulation
  • Emergency cooling systems
  • Bypass and recirculation lines
  • Process draining
  • Purging systems

Installation

  • Install the valve in line with the flow-direction arrow on the brass body.
  • Use compatible 2" female NPT pipe connections and ensure the piping is properly supported to accommodate the valve's size and weight.
  • Connect the coil to a correctly rated 24V AC power supply using the DIN 43650A connection.
  • An upstream pre-filter is recommended to help prevent debris from interfering with the diaphragm and valve operation.
