This stand alone actuator is a direct replacement for Atlantic Valves XR33 type ball valves ranging in sizes from 1/2" up to 1". The 3-wire XR33 unit is available in a 9 to 24 AC / DC or 110-230 AC option. The Red wire connects to positive + (hot) while the Black wire connects to negative - (neutral). The Green wire controls the open and closed position of the valve, and is connected to positive + (hot) through an inline switch/relay/controller. When both the Red and Green wires are energized, the valve opens, and while the Green wire is de-energized (and the Red is energized), the valve closes.
The XR33 actuator can be controlled in many different ways including an inline switch or with a smart home feature to remotely control it.

Great product
The first valve I received was defective, I contacted the company and there customer service is excellent. They sent out a replacement right away. they stand behind there products. I talked with a technician to make sure I didn't make a mistake in wiring it up. Would definitely recommend and would order from them again.

It was a bad unit, and needed to be replaced. The logistics to get the replacement was a hassle to prove it was bad. But then it was good with the replacement that worked.
