The BZW-32K-24VAC is considered a two-way, semi-direct lift valve or assisted lift solenoid valve. This valve is uni-directional and Normally Open which means it is in the Open position without power. Once energized this valve’s coil will generate a magnetic field pushing the Viton Diaphragm closed, shutting the valve almost instantly, in under one second, and preventing media flow. As long as the valve is energized the magnetic field will remain and keep the valve in the closed position. Once power is removed from the coil the internal spring will push the diaphragm back up into place, opening the valve and allowing media to pass though again. This valve is uni-directional as noted by the arrow molded onto the valve body and if there is back flow in your application check valves are recommended. This valve will not prevent flow in the opposite direction intended.
This valve uses a Viton® Rubbers seal which can withstand a wide temperature range of 15°F to 250°F and pressure range of 0 to 90PSI. This large range makes this valve extremely versatile and allows for applications ranging from gravity feed to high flow. This valve can handle fluids with a viscosity up to 20CST and is commonly used to automate and control the flow of various media such as hot water, air, gas, diesel fuel, Freon, weak acids and weak alkali. Common applications include HVAC, Plumbing, Solar Heating, Irrigation. Please note semi-direct solenoid valves do require a minimum pressure of at least 10PSI for gases in order to properly open and close and the flow rate for gravity fed applications varies based on head height. Always consider pressure and flow rate when selecting a valve.
The BZW-32K-24VAC has a dependable 24 Volt AC coil that boasts an IP 65 Enclosure rating which is the equivalent of an H Class Insulation Rating or a NEMA 4 waterproof level providing a degree of protection against dirt, dust, rain, splashing and hose directed water. The coil comes standard with a DIN connector which allows installers to run their own wires into the screw-down terminals inside the connector. Acceptable voltages for this coil are +/-10%.
