Product Overview

The BZW-32K-24VAC is considered a two-way, semi-direct lift valve or assisted lift solenoid valve. This valve is unidirectional and normally open, meaning it is in the Open position without power. Once energized, the coil generates a magnetic field that pushes the Viton Diaphragm closed, shutting the valve almost instantly (in under one second) and preventing media flow. As long as the valve is energized, the magnetic field will remain and keep the valve in the closed position. Once power is removed from the coil, the internal spring will push the diaphragm back up into place, opening the valve and allowing media to pass through again.

This valve uses a Viton® rubber seal which can withstand a wide temperature range of 15°F to 250°F and a pressure range of 0 to 90 psi. This large range makes this valve extremely versatile and allows for applications ranging from gravity feed to high flow. This valve can handle fluids with a viscosity up to 20 cSt. There is no minimum pressure required for this valve to properly open and close, and the flow rate for gravity-fed applications varies based on head height. Always consider pressure and flow rate when selecting a valve.

The BZW-32K-24VAC has a dependable 24 Volt AC coil that boasts an IP 54 Enclosure rating. The solenoid coil enclosure is protected against dust ingress that could interfere with operation and water splashes from any direction. Suitable for general industrial environments where occasional moisture or splashing may occur. Acceptable voltages for this coil are +/-10%.

Common Applications

This valve is commonly used to automate and control the flow of various media such as hot water, air, gas, diesel fuel, Freon, weak acids, and weak alkali. Common applications include:

  • HVAC
  • Plumbing
  • Solar Heating
  • Irrigation

Installation

  • This valve is uni-directional as noted by the arrow molded onto the valve body.
  • If there is backflow in your application, check valves are recommended. This valve will not prevent flow in the opposite direction intended.
  • The coil comes standard with a DIN connector, which allows installers to run their own wires into the screw-down terminals inside the connector.

*Consult a chemical compatibility expert for correct seal and valve body material choice.
