Product Overview

The BZW-15K-24VAC is a 1/2" 24V AC normally open brass solenoid valve designed to control water, air, fuel, and other compatible media in automated fluid systems. This 2-way, direct-acting diaphragm valve remains open when power is off and closes when its 24V AC coil is energized. Because it operates without a minimum pressure requirement, it is suitable for low-pressure and gravity-fed applications. The valve features a brass body, stainless steel internal components, a Viton® diaphragm, 1/2" female NPT ports, a 15 mm orifice, and a Cv of 3.5, delivering approximately 27 GPM of water flow at 60 psi.

The valve operates at 0 to 90 psi, with a media temperature range of 15°F to 250°F. Its 19 VA / 0.80 Amp coil is rated for 100% duty at rated ambient temperature and provides a response time of less than one second.

Common Applications

Common applications include:

  • Water circulation
  • Bypass lines
  • Draining
  • Other fluid-control systems that require flow to remain open when power is off.

This valve may also suit compatible water and air applications such as irrigation, fountains, and water filtration, provided the operating pressure, temperature, media compatibility, and required flow are within specifications.

Installation

  • Install the valve with the flow-direction arrow on the body pointing downstream.
  • It can be mounted vertically or horizontally, but should not be installed upside down with the coil underneath the valve.
  • We recommend using a filter to help prevent debris from interfering with the diaphragm.

*Consult a chemical compatibility expert for correct seal and valve body material choice.
