Product Overview

The SZW-20K-110VAC is a 3/4" normally open stainless steel solenoid valve designed to control water, air, and other compatible fluids in commercial, residential, and industrial systems. Its 110V AC coil keeps the valve closed when energized and allows it to return to the open position when power is removed. This fail-open operation makes it a good fit for systems where maintaining flow during a power interruption is important, such as cooling-water circulation, bypass lines, recirculation systems, and draining or purging applications.

Built with a stainless steel body and internals and a Viton® diaphragm, this 2-way valve has 3/4" female NPT ports and a 20 mm orifice. It provides a Cv of 7.6 and a rated flow of approximately 58 GPM at 60 psi. The valve operates with water pressures from 0–90 psi, with a media temperature range of 15°F to 250°F. The 110V AC coil draws 15 VA/0.15 amps, has a response time of less than one second, and is rated for 100% duty at the specified ambient temperature.

Common Applications

Common applications for this valve include:

  • Cooling-water circulation and equipment cooling loops
  • Industrial water control and process-water distribution
  • Water treatment and filtration equipment
  • Bypass and recirculation lines
  • Gravity-fed draining, venting, and purging
  • Humidifiers and water sprinkler systems
  • Air compressors and pneumatic systems
  • Fluid dispensing and dosing systems

Because this is a normally open valve, it is best suited to applications where flow should continue when power is off. Confirm that this default-open condition is appropriate for the system before selecting it.

Installation

  • Install the valve in the direction indicated by the flow arrow on the body
  • The SZW series can be mounted vertically or horizontally.
  • Flush piping before installation, and we recommend an upstream filter to help prevent debris from interfering with the diaphragm or valve operation.

*Consult a chemical compatibility expert to confirm proper valve body and seal materials for your application.
