1-1/4" 12V DC Electric Brass Solenoid Valve N/O
Technical Details
Product Overview
The BZW-32K series of Normally Open Valves is manufactured solid, with the body cast from brass, stainless steel wetted components, and a Viton seal. Classified as a two-way, semi-direct lift valve, sometimes referred to as assisted lift, this normally open valve has a broad array of uses. Semi-direct acting valves are the crossroads between direct acting and piloted solenoid valves, allowing them to work from zero bar and manage a high flow rate, meaning this valve is great for use when either gravity feed or a high flow is required.
The position of the valve refers to the non-energized position. This valve series is Normally Open, or in the Open position when not energized. Once energized, this valve will snap shut in under one second as the coil creates a magnetic field that pushes the diaphragm down against a spring! This valve will remain closed until the power is switched off and the spring pushes the diaphragm back up, allowing media to pass through the valve once again.
The 2-way valve’s body was molded from brass with two 1-1/4” Female NPT Ports, and a 32mm orifice. The Viton (FKM) seal can withstand temperatures as low as 15°F and as high as 250°F and pressure up to 90 psi or 6 bar; this equates to a flow coefficient of 24 or a flow rate of 184 gallons per minute at 60 psi.
The BZW-32K-12VDC has a 12 Volt DC coil with an acceptable voltage range of +/-10%. This reliable coil has an IP 54 Enclosure rating, allowing use for indoor or outdoor applications.
Common Applications
This valve can be used to automate and control the flow of water, fuel, air, and more. Common uses include:
- HVAC
- Plumbing
- Solar Heating
- Irrigation
Installation
- This valve is uni-directional, as noted by the arrow on the valve body, and will not operate properly in the opposite direction or if there is back-pressure on the diaphragm.
- The valve comes standard with a DIN connector, which allows installers to run their own wires into the screw-down terminals inside the connector.
