1/2" 24V DC Stainless Steel Solenoid Valve N/O
Technical Details
Product Overview
The SZW-15K-24VDC is a 1/2" 24V DC normally open stainless steel solenoid valve designed for automatic on/off control of water, air, and other compatible media in commercial and industrial fluid systems. This 2-way, unidirectional valve stays open when power is off and closes when 24V DC is applied. Its normally open operation makes it useful for systems that need to maintain flow during a power interruption, including cooling-water circulation, bypass lines, and process draining or purging applications.
It can also be used in compatible fluid dispensing and dosing systems when a default-open flow path is appropriate. Always confirm that the valve's default-open operation is suitable for the system and that the media, pressure, temperature, and flow requirements are within specifications.
The valve features a 304 stainless steel body, 316 stainless steel internal components, and a Viton® diaphragm. It has 1/2" female NPT ports, a 15 mm orifice, and a Cv of 3.5, providing approximately 27 GPM of water flow at 60 psi. It operates at 0–90 psi, with a media temperature range of 15°F to 250°F.
The 24V DC coil requires 28 W/1.20 amps and operates within a voltage tolerance of ±10%. It responds in less than one second and is rated for 100% duty at rated ambient temperature. The valve can operate with no minimum differential pressure for water service, making it suitable for gravity-fed liquid applications.
Common Applications
Common applications include:
- Cooling-water circulation
- Industrial water control
- Water treatment and filtration equipment
- Process water distribution
- Humidifiers
- Water sprinkler systems
- Air compressors
- Pneumatic systems
Installation
- Install the valve in line with the flow-direction arrow on the stainless steel body.
- This is a unidirectional valve and must be installed with flow in the indicated direction.
- It can be mounted vertically or horizontally.
- Verify the connector configuration before wiring.
- This coil is not waterproof and should not be installed in spray-down locations.
- Flush the piping before installation, and we recommend installing an upstream filter to help prevent debris from interfering with diaphragm operation.
