1/2" 24V AC Stainless Steel Solenoid Valve N/O
Technical Details
Product Overview
The SZW-15K-24VAC is a 1/2" 24V AC normally open stainless steel solenoid valve designed for automatic on/off control of water, air, fuel, and other compatible media in commercial and industrial fluid systems. This 2-way, unidirectional valve stays open when power is off and closes when 24V AC is applied. Its normally open configuration is useful for systems that need to maintain flow during a power interruption, including cooling-water circulation, bypass lines, and process draining or purging applications.
The valve features a 304 stainless steel body, 316 stainless steel internal components, and a Viton® diaphragm for compatibility with a range of fluids and operating temperatures. It has 1/2" female NPT ports, a 15 mm orifice, and a Cv of 3.5, providing approximately 27 GPM of water flow at 60 psi. It operates at 0–90 psi, with a media temperature range of 15°F to 250°F (-10°C to 120°C). The 24V AC coil requires 19 VA/0.80 amps, has a DIN 43650B electrical connection, responds in less than one second, and is rated for 100% duty at rated ambient temperature. The valve can operate without a minimum differential pressure requirement for applications, making it suitable for gravity-fed liquid systems.
Common Applications
Common applications include:
- Cooling-water circulation
- Emergency cooling loops
- Industrial water control
- Water treatment and filtration
- Bypass and recirculation lines
- Process draining or purging systems
Installation
- Install the valve in line with the directional arrow on the stainless steel body.
- This is a unidirectional valve, so flow must follow the indicated direction.
- Mount the valve vertically or horizontally, avoiding an upside-down position with the coil underneath.
- The DIN 43650B connector is pre-wired for convenient electrical connection.
- This coil is not waterproof and should not be installed in spray-down locations.
- Flush piping before installation and use an upstream pre-filter to help prevent debris from interfering with diaphragm operation.
