This 2-way UPVC body ball valve is a great choice for a variety of chemicals as well as potable water applications. The valves body is molded from UPVC and the ball seal is made from EMPD. There are no wetted metal parts making it appropriate for salt water and other corrosives. The Red wire connects to positive + (hot) while the Black wire connects to negative - (neutral). The Green wire controls the open and closed position of the valve, and is connected to positive + (hot) through an inline switch/relay/controller. When both the Red and Green wires are energized, the valve opens, and while the Green wire is de-energized (and the Red is energized), the valve closes.
This particular ball valve takes approximately 5 seconds to fully change position and functions in a fully open or fully closed position. Since the valve has a slow open/close the effects of water hammer are eliminated. The XR33 model actuator has an IP67 rating or NEMA 4 equivalent making it possible to be used outdoors or other wet locations. The valve should be installed with the motor in the up position to prolong the life and eliminate issues, especially in cases where there is excessive vibrating. This valve comes with a position indicator installed at the top of the motor that will show you the direction the opening in the ball is facing. Since this is a bi-directional valve media can flow in either direction without resistance.
