Product Overview
The SZW-20K-12VDC is a 3/4" normally open stainless steel solenoid valve designed for automatic on/off control of water, air, and other compatible media in commercial, residential, and industrial systems. Its 12V DC coil closes the valve when energized and allows it to return to the open position when power is removed. This fail-open operation makes it suitable for applications where maintaining flow during a power interruption is important, such as cooling-water circulation, bypass lines, recirculation systems, and draining or purging.
Constructed with a stainless steel body and components and a Viton® diaphragm, this 2-way valve features 3/4" female NPT ports and a 20 mm orifice. It has a Cv of 7.6 and a flow capacity of approximately 58 GPM at 60 psi. The operating pressure range is 0–90 psi, with a media temperature range of 15°F to 250°F. The 12V DC coil is listed at 16 watts and 1.50 amps, with a response time of less than one second and a 100% duty cycle within its rated voltage and ambient temperature limits.

Because this is a normally open valve, it is best suited to applications where flow should continue when power is off. Confirm that this fail-open condition is appropriate for the system before selecting the valve.
Installation
- Install the valve in the direction indicated by the flow arrow on the body; it is a unidirectional valve.
- This valve can be mounted vertically or horizontally.
- Flush piping before installation, and we recommend an upstream filter to help prevent debris from interfering with the diaphragm or valve operation.
- Verify that the media is compatible with the stainless steel construction and Viton® diaphragm, and use a properly rated 12V DC power supply.
