Product Overview
The SZW-20K-24VDC is a 3/4" normally open stainless steel solenoid valve designed for automatic on/off control of water, air, and other compatible media in commercial, residential, and industrial systems. Its 24V DC coil closes the valve when energized and allows it to return to the open position when power is removed. This fail-open operation makes it suitable for applications where maintaining flow during a power interruption is important, including cooling-water circulation, bypass lines, recirculation systems, and draining or purging.
Constructed with a 304 stainless steel body, 316 stainless steel components, and a Viton® diaphragm, this 2-way valve features 3/4" female NPT ports and a 20 mm orifice. It has a Cv of 7.6 and a flow capacity of approximately 58 GPM at 60 psi. The operating pressure range is 0–90 psi with a media temperature range of 15°F to 250°F. The 24V DC coil is rated at 28 watts. The valve has a response time of less than one second and is rated for 100% duty within its specified voltage and ambient temperature limits.

Because this is a normally open valve, it is best suited to applications where flow should continue when power is off. Confirm that this fail-open condition is appropriate for the system before selecting the valve.
Installation
- Install the valve in the direction indicated by the flow arrow on the body; it is a unidirectional valve.
- The SZW series can be mounted vertically or horizontally.
- Flush piping before installation and install an upstream filter to help prevent debris from interfering with the diaphragm or valve operation.
- Verify media compatibility with the stainless steel construction and Viton® diaphragm, and use a properly rated 24V DC power supply.
- The coil is not waterproof, so avoid installations exposed to spray-down conditions.
