The BV-3WT-S series is our Stainless Steel 3-way, “T-Type” manual ball valve line. T-Type or T-port valves are often referred to as Mixing Ball Valves as they can divert flow in multiple directions at the same time. This valve consists of a stainless steel body and 3 stainless steel end caps with female NPT threading for easy, and in some cases, toolless installation. These valves eliminate the need for multiple 2-way ball valves connected by tees to meet multiple flow requirements.
Locking T-Type Valve
3-way T-type ball valves are perfect for mixing media from multiple sources, or with the simple turn of the handle you can send or receive media from any one port to any other port on the valve. For convenience, they have a position indicator located on the top of the blow out proof stem at the end of our lockable handle. This valve can be locked in any position.
The T-Type design refers to the cut-out channel in the ball. The ball is bore into to create an opening that looks like the letter “T”. This design allows for many possible flow patterns as any 2-ports can be connected, or all three can be opened at once. This valve is bi-directional allowing any of the three ports to act as an inlet or an outlet port. Due to the multiple openings in a T-type valve this valve can never be completely closed. If you need a valve that can divert flow or completely cut-off flow, our L-type may be right for you.
SS Valve Construction
The BV-3WT-S series is manufactured out of high-quality stainless steel, with stainless steel components and comes standard with PTFE seals allowing it to withstand pressures up to 1000PSI. With a PTFE (Teflon) seal and Ball Seat this valve is great for high heat applications and resistant to many chemicals. This valve is rated for temperatures from -25° F to 356° F and can be used across many gases and liquids. The BV-3WT-S is completely lead-free, making it a suitable option for potable water and food grade applications. Always consult a chemical compatibility expert for correct seal and valve body material choice.
