Product Overview

The SZW-40-12VDC is a 12 Volt DC, 2 Way, 1-1/2 Inch Stainless Solenoid Valve. This valve is compatible with air, water gas, diesel fuel, glycol as well as various other media types. This valve is rated for media temperatures ranging from 15°F to 250°F and pressure ranging from 0PSI up to 90PSI. This is a normally closed unit meaning the valve will stay closed until power is applied. The 12 Volt DC coil requires a 12 Volt DC power source to operate. 

The SZW-40-12VDC is a 1.5” inch stainless steel valve that has female NPT ports. The valve weighs approximately 4lbs, 14ozs and measures 6” tall, 4.33” port to port and 3.35” wide. This is a high flow solenoid valve with a 40mm orifice and Cv value of 29. This means the valve can flow approximately 220 GPM of water at 60 PSI. 

The 12 Volt DC coil is included and required 40 watts or 3.25 amps to actuate. The coil includes lead wires for easy connection. The coil is rated for continuous use but should not be powered indefinitely.

The valve body is made of 304 Stainless Steel and it uses a Viton Diaphragm. These components are food grade and this valve can be used for potable water applications.

Installation: The valve is mountable in any position however coil up is preferred. The coil has no polarity and the wires are interchangeable with power and ground. There is a directional arrow on the valves body that represents the direction of flow. A pre-filter is recommended to prevent debris from entering the valve body.

This valve is commonly used by municipalities for fuel and/or water transfer.
