The 2W-400-40 is one of the biggest brass valves we currently offer. This valve is a two-way, semi-direct lift valve that operates in a normally closed position. This means that there are two ports in which media flows and the valve will open when the coil is energized to allow media to pass through. Removing the energy from the valve coil will close it and stop the flow. It works across various media such as hot water, air, gas, diesel fuel, Freon, weak acids and weak alkali. The valve features a heavy duty, solid brass body that’s sure to last in the most strenuous projects.
The port size is 1-1/2” inch female NPT threaded. This Solenoid Valve can handle low viscosity fluids below 20 cst. The orifice size is 40mm and the CV value is 28. It requires little to no pressure to function but can withstand pressure up to 90 psi (6 bar) and temperatures as low as 15°F and as high as 250°F. The seal material is Viton® Rubber. This valve works in one direction and will not prevent media from moving backwards in the opposite direction.
This specific valve has a 12 Volt DC coil with a voltage range that is -+ 10. The coil head is fitted with a 5’’ wire lead that can easily be connected with your own choice of terminals. The top of the coil features a label that indicates the valve type and specifications. Its response time is very low; in fact, it acts in less than one second, making it a great choice for all types of applications.
Customers commonly use the 2W-400-40 Valve for Irrigation, Solar Heating, Beer Brewing, Hydroponics, HVAC, and Plumbing and everywhere else you can think of installing a 1-1/2'' Inch Valve.
This model is mountable in any position and features a conveniently positioned arrow on the body to indication the direction of flow.
*Consult a chemical compatibility expert for correct seal and valve body material choice.
Used your 1-1/2” 12V DC solenoid with a 8 cell AA battery pack between a 28” long 2” diameter ABS air tank and a 14” long 2” diameter ABS launch tube to launch T-shirts. At 60 PSI we can launch over 300 yards. It’s amazing!

Service from electric solenoid valves great, valve itself leaked upon install which required tighting all of the bolts that hold it together. Hopefully that will have solved the problem. All other valves I have purchased have worked fine.
