1-1/2" Plastic Zero Differential Solenoid Valve
Technical Details
Product Overview
Atlantic Valve’s PSL-40 is a lead-free, 1-1/2” PA66 Engineered Nylon Plastic Electric Solenoid Valve. This valve is Normally Closed, 2-way, and unidirectional. This means it is closed without power and open when power is applied. It is a 2-way valve with an inlet port and an outlet port, as with most semi-direct solenoid valves.
This heavy-duty plastic valve requires zero differential pressure to open, making it great for gravity feed and can automate the flow for applications up to 75 pounds per square inch of pressure. Manufactured with an EPDM seal, this valve can withstand a wider range of temperature and pressure than NBR or Viton equivalents. This material is also far more durable and resistant to abrasion. This valve features a 1-1/2” NPT threading, a 40 mm orifice, and a flow rate Cv 30 (Appx 220 GPM @ 60 PSI).
Configured with high-performance coils, these valves are rated for over 70,000 cycles in ideal conditions, close in an instant (less than one second). These are conveniently available in your choice of 5 different voltages, which will suit any application.
Common Applications
- This valve has many uses, including automating the flow of potable drinking water, gas, air, and other food-grade applications. Many prefer to use this in their homes due to the valve being lead-free.
- They have a Class H (356°F) Insulation Rating and an IP65 waterproof level, making them great for indoor or outdoor use.
Installation
- The valve is unidirectional, and the molded arrow on the valve body indicates the required flow direction for installation.
- A pre-filter is recommended to keep the diaphragm free from debris and the valve functioning properly.
*Consult a chemical compatibility expert for correct seal and valve body material choice.
Wiring Instructions
- Loosen and remove the Phillips-head screw securing the DIN connector to the coil.
- Detach the DIN connector from the coil.
- Open the DIN connector housing by prying at the small slot located in the bottom corner next to the Earth terminal.
- Inside the housing, locate the screw terminals:
- Terminal 1: Connect the hot or positive wire.
- Terminal 2: Connect the neutral or negative wire.
- Earth Terminal (for AC voltages only): Connect the ground or Earth wire.
- Ensure all screw terminals are securely tightened for a reliable connection.
- Reassemble the DIN connector by reversing the steps above.
