Product Overview

The BZW-32K-110VAC is considered a two-way, semi-direct valve or assisted lift solenoid valve. Semi-direct solenoid valves are a mix between a direct acting and pilot operated solenoid valve, they use both armature movement to allow for lower pressure or gravity feed applications as well as an additional pressure chamber which creates and pressure differential assisting to move the diaphragm for higher pressure applications. Semi-Direct valves are the most common type of brass General Purpose solenoid valves.

Semi-Direct Valves are uni-directional as noted by the arrow molded onto the valve body and if there is back flow in your application check valves are recommended. This valve will not prevent flow in the opposite direction intended. This valve, the BZW-32K is Normally Open which refers to the non-energized position. This valve series is Normally Open, or in the Open position when not energized. Once energized this valve will snap shut in under one second as the coil creates a magnetic field that pushes the diaphragm down against a spring! This valve will remain closed until the power is switched off and the spring pushes the diaphragm back up allowing media to pass through the valve once again.

This brass electric solenoid valve comes standard with a Viton® Rubber seal. Viton® Rubber is compatible with a wide range of media such as hot water, air, gas, diesel fuel, Freon, weak acids and weak alkali and is popular for its ability to withstand large ranges of temperature and pressure. This valve boasts a temperature range of 15°F to 250°F and pressure range of 0 to 90PSI. This large range makes this valve extremely versatile and is commonly used in HVAC, Plumbing, Solar Heating, Irrigation applications. Please note semi-direct solenoid valves do require a minimum pressure of at least 10PSI for gases in order to properly open and close and the flow rate for gravity fed applications varies based on head height. Always consider pressure and flow rate when selecting a valve.

The BZW-32K-110VAC is fitted with a 110 Volt AC coil with an IP 65 Enclosure rating which is the equivalent of an H Class Insulation Rating or a NEMA 4 waterproof level. This coil can accept voltages +/-10% of 110V AC which matches the voltage in most homes meaning it can easily wired without a transformer. The coil comes standard with a DIN connector allowing installers to use their preferred wires.
