1-1/2" 110V AC Stainless Electric Solenoid Valve
Technical Details
Product Overview
The SZW-40-110VAC Stainless Steel Solenoid valve has 1-1/2” Female NPT ports. This is a 2-way normally closed valve that will hold its closed position and open only when power is applied. It is gravity feed capable and requires no pressure to open. This is a fast-acting solenoid valve that will change position in less than 1 second. This particular valve is compatible with a variety of media types, including air, water, gas, and other low-viscosity fluids. This valve will operate with standard 120V power usually found in most residential and commercial applications.
The SZW-40-110VAC has a voltage tolerance of +-10% making it compatible with most residential and commercial 120 Volt power sources. This valve's coil requires 35 VA/0.50 Amps of power to open. The valve has flying lead wires that can be connected with your own terminals or directly soldered. It is rated for continuous duty; however, it should not be used as a fail-safe left on indefinitely, only to close when a power outage occurs. The valve can be used with media temperatures ranging from 15°F up to 250°F. The recommended pressure range is from 0 PSI to 145 PSI.
The orifice size is 40 mm, and the flow rate can be calculated using a Cv of 29. For example, it is capable of passing 220 GPM of water at 60 PSI. This solid Stainless Steel valve weighs approximately 4 lbs 14 oz, dimensions are 6” tall, 3.35 width and 4.33” port to port.
Common Applications
The valve body is made of 304 Stainless Steel, and it uses a Viton Diaphragm. These materials are food-grade, and this valve can be used for food, beverage, and potable water applications.
Installation
- The coil has no polarity, making power and ground interchangeable.
- There is an arrow indicating the direction of flow on the stainless valve body.
- Installing with the coil up is the preferred method; however, the valve will operate in any position.
- A pre-filter should be installed to prevent the valve from leaking due to debris.
