Product Overview
The SS-3J-12VDC is a direct-acting 12 Volt DC, 2-way, 1/4" Stainless Steel electric solenoid valve that can be used for liquid, water, gas, and air in a variety of different applications. This valve uses a Viton seal that is compatible with many liquids such as water up to 250°F, weak acids, and diesel fuel. This particular valve is Normally Closed, which means the valve will only open when power is applied and close when power is removed. This valve requires a 12 volt power supply or will connect directly to a vehicle's 12-volt battery. This compact valve features a solid stainless steel body, stainless steel components, and a copper shading ring with a female NPT threaded port.
The SS-3J-12VDC valve has a 12 Volt DC coil with a voltage range that is -+ 10. Its response time is very low; in fact, it acts in less than one second, making it a great choice for all types of applications. The orifice size is 2.5 mm, and the Cv value is 0.20. This valve is not recommended for gravity-fed systems because of the small orifice size.
Installation
- The coil head is fitted with a wire lead connection that can easily be connected with your own choice of terminals.
- This model is mountable in any position and features a conveniently positioned arrow on the body to indicate the direction of flow.
- A pre-filter is always recommended to keep the diaphragm free from debris and the valve functioning properly.
- Connection: No Polarity; positive (+) and negative (–) can be interchanged.
